Sterling and Wilson Solar Bags AUD 300-m Australian order

Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited, a Shapoorji Pallonji Group company has bagged two large solar projects in Australia with an installed capacity of over 300 MW, the company said in a statement.

The new projects have been secured from a global independent power producer, the work for which is expected to commence immediately. Sterling and Wilson already has three projects worth over 800 MW under construction in Australia.

Bikesh Ogra, Director and Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Limited said, “The company is delighted to have won two major solar projects in Australia. Its total order book in Australia now stands at AUD 1.2 b (Rs.6,350 crores) with five projects and a portfolio of more than 1.1 GW, making Sterling and Wilson the largest homegrown solar EPC player in the region.”

He added, “With the continent’s regulatory environment becoming more conducive towards renewable energy and the prevalence of high-electricity tariff, the commercial viability of solar projects is improving.”

Other than Australia, Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited also has a 1,177 MW Solar PV plant in Abu Dhabi, which is the world’s largest single-site solar plant. The company stated that it also manages a portfolio of 7.4 GW of O&M projects globally.
