Indonesia was the leading supplier, providing approximately 1,517,997 metric tonnes. This significantly reinforces its position as India's primary source of thermal coal due to economic and logistical advantages.
South Africa contributed the second-largest share, sending
684,406 metric tonnes. Australia supplied 64,000 metric tonnes.
The total thermal coal import to the country stood at
2,266,403 metric tonnes.
