At 4.59 Mt, India's 05 - 11 May steam coal imports rise 35% week-on-week

From May 5th to May 11th, India imported a total of 4,594,933 metric tonnes of steam coal

Indonesia emerged as the largest supplier of coal to India during this period, accounting for 2,859,356 metric tons. This constitutes approximately 62.24% of the total coal imports, underscoring Indonesia's critical role in meeting India's coal demand.

South Africa was the second-largest exporter to India during the week, providing 589,618 metric tons of coal. This represents about 12.83% of the total imports.

The United States also played a notable role, exporting 420,640 metric tons of coal to India, which is around 9.15% of the total imports.
